Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 August 2026

1. Who you are contracting with

FlowState Family is owned and operated by Qassem Shaia, a sole trader based in Western Australia, Australia, trading as "FlowState Family" ("we", "us"). When you use the app or purchase a subscription, you are contracting with Qassem Shaia. You can reach us at flowstatefamilyy@gmail.com.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating a FlowState Family account or continuing to use the service you agree to these Terms of Service. Accounts with parent privileges may only be created and used by adults aged 18 or over; the adult who creates a family workspace becomes its parent and protects parent controls with an adult PIN. Child accounts must be set up and supervised by a verified parent or legal guardian.

3. Acceptable use and code of conduct

FlowState Family includes a photo-verification feature used to prove that a chore was completed. You agree that you, and any child account in your family, will not upload, share, or transmit:

  • Nude, sexual, or otherwise inappropriate images of any person, including yourself.
  • Offensive, hateful, harassing, violent, or threatening content.
  • Images of other people taken without their knowledge or consent.
  • Unsafe content, illegal content, or content that endangers a minor.
  • Content unrelated to chore verification, spam, or attempts to manipulate coins and rewards.
  • Unlawful use, fraud, spam, infringement of intellectual property, or interference with the security of the service (malware, probing, scraping).

Photos should show only the completed task. Parents are responsible for reviewing what their children submit. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.

4. Subscriptions, payment and billing

FlowState Family is free to use with limits. FlowState Family Pro is a paid subscription billed at US$9.99 per month or US$69.99 per year, following an optional 7-day free trial that does not require a payment card. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. Applicable sales tax, VAT or GST is calculated and added at checkout.

You may cancel at any time from Settings → Manage subscription or via the billing portal link in your receipt; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. If a renewal payment fails, Pro features move to a read-only grace state before reverting to the free plan.

Payment, billing, tax, currency, invoicing, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Our refund commitments are set out in our Refund Policy.

5. Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

6. Coins, rewards and the family economy

FlowState Family is a chore tracking and family management utility — it is not a bank, money transmitter, payment processor, or financial institution, and it holds no funds. Coins, streaks, bonuses and penalties inside FlowState Family have no real-world monetary value outside of your own family agreements, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are simply a way for your family to track effort. Real-world rewards, allowances and payouts are agreed and delivered entirely by your family — FlowState Family does not fulfil, guarantee, or arbitrate them, and accepts zero liability for any real-world payout or for the physical safety of any chore performed.

7. Parent controls

Approving chores, awarding bonuses and deducting coins are restricted to verified parent accounts. You are responsible for keeping your adult PIN and login credentials private and away from children.

8. Intellectual Property

All app designs, user interfaces, source code, graphics, logos, and branding under FlowState Family are the exclusive property of Qassem Shaia. Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial household organization. Reverse engineering, resale, redistribution and circumvention of plan limits are not permitted.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep FlowState Family available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Features may change, and maintenance or third-party outages may affect availability.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Qassem Shaia, FlowState Family and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your family disputes, real-world chores, physical injuries, or breach of these terms.

11. Limitation of liability

FlowState Family is a household organisation and motivation tool. We are not responsible for disputes between parents and children — or between any family members — about chores, chore approvals or rejections, coin balances, bonuses, penalties, rewards, missed tasks, or broken promises. All such matters are between the members of your family.

To the maximum extent allowed by law, FlowState Family is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind (including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose), we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not permit exclusion, including your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using FlowState Family and delete your data at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or conduct that puts a child at risk.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of FlowState Family following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Western Australia, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions, and the courts of Western Australia have jurisdiction over any dispute.
